Riding a bike when you are young is great fun.
You can go out on a bike to ride with other kids in the forest.
You will get better at riding and your legs will get stronger.
Things you learn when you are small will make you a better bike rider when you are older.
Starting young will give you strong muscles and bones and when you are older you will be able to win some races.
Riding a bike when you are old IS STILL FUN.
A Boring bit for your mum and dad.....
There are some races where there will be events for small kids run by Foss, Nix or Gregor. Under 9’s need to be accompanied by an adult and they will usually start three quarters of an hour before the main event and be over in time for the adults race to start. For slightly bigger kids, there may be a shorter version of the adult race. Helpers are always needed some helpers to run these at 11. If anybody else wants to volunteer to run something similar at another venue please get in touch with one of the committee or the organiser. Helpers with "disclosure certificates" (e.g. teachers and nursery staff) are particularly sought for helping with the kids events. Parents should be aware that bike races are open to the public and that the club cannot accept responsibility for protecting, supervising and caring for children who take part. Children should be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. |
